Alpha Phi Sigma

Alpha Phi Sigma recognizes academic excellence of undergraduate and graduate students of criminal justice, as well as juris doctorate students.  The goals of Alpha Phi Sigma are to honor and promote academic excellence, community service, educational leadership, and unity.  Alpha Phi Sigma is the only Criminal Justice Honor Society which is a certified member of the Association of College Honors Societies and affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. alphaphisigma.org  

Alpha Sigma Lambda, Gamma Xi

Alpha Sigma Lambda has been a proud Rutgers-Camden tradition since its inception in 1982. The members are elected from among the best scholars in the upper classes of University College. Membership is based on grade point average and credits earned in University College.

Athenaeum

Athenaeum has been a proud Rutgers-Camden tradition since its inception in 1952. The members are elected from among the best scholars in the upper classes of the College of Arts and Sciences. Membership is based on grade point average and credits earned in CCAS.

Chi Alpha Epsilon, Zeta Pi

Chi Alpha Epsilon was formed in 1989 to recognize the academic achievements of students admitted to colleges and universities through non-traditional criteria.  Its purposes are to: promote continued high academic standards, foster increased communication among its members, and honor academic excellence achieved by those students. 

Delta Delta Epsilon

DDE is an international honor society that is dedicated to stimulating academic achievement, promoting community understanding, and advancing the fields of forensic science.  Membership is limited to students within the disciplines of forensic science which meet high academic criteria and have displayed excellence during their collegiate career.

Iota Iota Iota, Triota

Iota Iota Iota, Triota, is a National Women’s Studies Honor Society with over 50 chapters nationwide. The Greek letter, iota, was selected for the name to represent the three goddesses Inanna, Ishtar, and Isis. Iota Iota Iota strives to maintain the feminist values central to Women’s Studies and encourage diversity, egalitarianism, and a supportive academic environment for all students.

The Delta Omega Chapter of Iota Iota Iota at Rutgers–Camden began in Spring 2018 with 45 members. Triota at Rutgers–Camden recognizes the academic achievements of students in Gender Studies and participates every semester in service, academic, and social activities. Triota encourages volunteerism, advocacy, and activism within the community as important methods for promoting and maintaining the feminist values central to Women’s Studies.

Kappa Delta Pi

Kappa Delta Pi is an International Honor Society in Education. It was founded in 1911 by Dr. William Bagley at the University of Illinois.  The founders chose the name from the Greek letters Kappa Delta Pi to represent Knowledge, Duty, and Power.

Omicron Delta Epsilon

Omicron Delta Epsilon is one of the world’s largest academic honor societies. The objectives of Omicron Delta Epsilon are recognition of scholastic attainment and the honoring of outstanding achievements in economics; the establishment of closer ties between students and faculty in economics within colleges and universities, and among colleges and universities; the publication of its official journal, The American Economist, and sponsoring of panels at professional meetings as well as the Irving Fisher and Frank W. Phi Alpha

This society is the national social work honor society. Its purpose is to advance excellence in social work practice and to encourage, stimulate, and maintain scholarship of the individual members. To be eligible for membership, a student must have senior standing, have completed 21 credits in the social work program, a 3.25 cumulative GPA, and a 3.5 GPA in social work courses. In addition to academic excellence, a student must demonstrate leadership, a high standard of personal behavior, and a dedication to social work practice. 

Phi Alpha Theta

Phi Alpha Theta is an American honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history.  The society has over 350,000 members, with about 9,500 new member joining each year through 860 local chapters.  Phi Alpha Theta was established on March 17, 1921, at the University of Arkansas by Professor Nels Cleven. phialphathea.org/about

Phi Beta Kappa

Phi Beta Kappa is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honor society. To be inducted a student must have accomplishments that extend well beyond the achievement of a very high grade point average. An inductee has exhibited expertise in advanced study of a foreign language, breadth of course work in multiple areas of the liberal arts, including proficiency in mathematics, and a major (or second major) in a traditional “academic” (that is, non-applied and non-professional) liberal arts discipline.

Pi Alpha Alpha

Pi Alpha Alpha is the international honor society for students in public affairs and administration. This honor society is an organization within NASPAA, the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration. The purpose of this society is to encourage and recognize outstanding scholarship and accomplishment in public affairs and administration, to promote the advancement of education and practice in the art and science of public affairs and administration, and to foster integrity, professionalism and creative performance in the conduct of governmental and related public service activities.

Pi Gamma Mu

Pi Gamma Mu recognizes academic excellence in the fields of anthropology, criminal justice, economics, cultural geography, history, international relations, social philosophy, social work, sociology, political science, and psychology. Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, is the only honor society for college students of political science and government in the United States. Psi Chi

Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship, and advancing the science of psychology. Membership is open to graduate and undergraduate men and women who are making the study of psychology one of their major interests, and who meet the minimum qualifications. Psi Chi is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Psychological Science (APS). Psi Chi’s sister honor society is Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for community and junior colleges.

Sigma Tau Delta

Sigma Tau Delta, International English Honor Society, was founded in 1924 at Dakota Wesleyan University. The Society strives to confer distinction for high achievement in English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies. Sigma Tau Delta is one of the largest members of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS), the nation’s only certifying agency for college and university honor societies.
