Dignitaries and leading scholars from the University of Havana, San Geronimo University, and the University of Medical Sciences of Havana will be visiting campus in early November for the “Conference on the Future Directions for a New Cuba: Building Sustainable Partnerships.” Sponsored by the Community Leadership Center, this conference will explore how institutions of higher learning build sustainable public-private partnerships for research and entrepreneurial programs in sustainable agriculture, education, the medical sciences, the arts, and community development.
Monday, November 6th, the first day of this weeklong conference is open to the public, and will feature a 9:30 a.m. keynote address by Ambassador José Ramón Cabañas Rodríguez of the Cuban Mission to the United States.
Registration is required. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with registration and breakfast, and will conclude by 6:30 p.m. with an art reception, featuring Cuban artists.
