Alisa Belanger headshotWe welcome Dr. Alisa Belanger, Assistant Professor of French, to the Rutgers-Camden Arts and Sciences community!

Alisa Belanger holds a Ph.D. in French and Francophone Studies from UCLA, as well as an M.A. in Langue et littérature françaises from McGill University. Her research focuses on book art (artist pamphlets, book objects, bibliophilic works, etc.) created by Francophone writers and artists since 1945. She is especially interested in collective commemoration, postcolonial canon-building, transnational collaboration, and the subversion of Eurocentric reading norms through the use of creative material forms. She has published articles on Quebec poetry in the U.S. and Canada. Her translation of Tombeau de Lou (2001) by Denise Desautels is forthcoming from Éditions Guernica under the title Things that Fall.
