On Wednesday, September 28th, acclaimed actress, screenwriter, and director Toni Kalem will give a free talk about careers in film, the process of adapting novels for the screen, the challenges for women in Hollywood, and independent film. The lecture begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Campus Center’s Multi-Purpose Room. A reception will immediately follow.
Ms. Kalem is best known for her performance as Angie Bonpensiero in The Sopranos. She has written for The Sopranos and The Big C. Ms. Kalem has adapted the novel Layover, written by Ms. Lisa Zeidner, Professor of Creative Writing and English, for the screen and is finalizing plans to direct that movie, which will star Penelope Cruz, who will also co-produce.
