Abstract

Food is Medicine is sweeping the country, impacting healthcare delivery, health policy, and state and local public health approaches. From produce prescriptions to medically tailored meals, food is medicine offers an unprecedented opportunity to prevent chronic disease and improve the health of the nation, while simultaneously providing economic opportunities for farmers and businesses. This presentation will introduce the concept of food is medicine, examine its many opportunities and challenges, and explore emerging developments in the field.
