The Cooper Street Gateway, one of the most anticipated and exciting projects at our university, will create a dynamic hub of carefully designed and meaningful campus spaces. On Friday, September 27, we invite you to learn about the archaeological findings that have been uncovered in the early stages of the project, which will renew and revitalize Camden’s historic urban fabric.

Public Archaeology Day will offer a unique opportunity to examine Camden’s early history, including land on Cooper Street and lots on Lawrence Street. The day will include guided tours of the site as well as opportunities for participants to get their hands dirty looking for artifacts (work gloves required!)

Tours will be held on the hour between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; they will depart between 421 and 425 Cooper Street.
