The Campus Gallery, located in the Campus Center off Third Street, is a shared project between the Department of Visual, Media, and Performing Arts and the Division of Student Affairs. Currently, the work from the inaugural Print Making 101 class with Jeff Filbert, Lecturer of Art, is on display until Tuesday, September 24. All are invited to the gallery reception on Tuesday, September 17, from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Starting Tuesday, October 1, the Campus Gallery will feature the work of alumnus Jacob Lechner. “Still” is a series of photos of abandoned buildings and sites that Jacob Lechner, CCAS ’20, has visited over the past decade. These peripheral old haunts dot our daily experiences and inside of them they can be isolating, or a source of refuge from urban life. Lechner reframes these hollowed cathedrals, derelict tracks, and abandoned sites as decaying time capsules; places we travel while staying still. The exhibition will be on view until Friday, November 22. The gallery reception will be hosted on Wednesday, November 13, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., and is open to all.
