Beginning Saturday, January 13, 2024, the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will host a series of events honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
- Saturday, January 13 – Day of Service
- Join us from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. as we partner with the city of Camden and the Office of the Mayor for a neighborhood clean-up.
- Monday, January 15* – Virtual Master Class: “To the Promised Land: Remembering the Radical King, Ending Racism, Violence, Poverty, and War”
- Beginning at 2:30 p.m., we will hear from Dr. Michael K. Honey, University of Washington professor and acclaimed author of books on southern labor, civil rights, and black labor history, and Dr. King’s struggles for racial and economic equality.
- Thursday, January 18 – Fighting for Justice: The Case for Reparations
- During the free period (12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.), join us for a conversation with Dr. Jean-Pierre Brutus, Esq., Ph.D., Senior Counsel of the Economic Justice Program at the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice, as he shares the work of the institute in advocating for economic justice, criminal justice reform, protecting and expanding access to the ballot for all New Jerseyans, as well as leading the work of the New Jersey Reparations Council.
