The Feb. 8 “Scarlet Raptors Rally” will bring free food, entertainment, and a new basketball rivalry to the campus community.

At Rutgers University in Camden, excitement is building for the inaugural “Scarlet Raptors Rally,” an evening of festivities headlined by the men’s and women’s basketball teams. The entire campus community is invited to cheer on the Scarlet Raptors as they host Kean University for a doubleheader on Wednesday, Feb. 8.

All attendees will have the chance to enjoy free admission and free food in a carnival-like setting at the Athletic and Fitness Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. Before the start of the games, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members will be able to take selfies in a Rutgers-Camden-themed photo booth and pick up some giveaways bearing the Scarlet Raptors logo.

While the fun will begin before tipoff, the celebration will continue throughout both games. Alumnus William Mead CCAS’79 GSC’88, a Vietnam War Veteran, will sing the National Anthem before the Women’s Basketball game at 6 p.m. The Raptors men’s game against Kean University begins at 8 p.m. Rutgers–Camden cheerleaders and the Scarlet Raptors mascot will entertain at halftime.
