The Department of Mathematical Sciences will host Rutgers-Camden alumnus Nick Sanchirico on Monday, October 25, for a seminar called “Exploring Careers in Mathematics.”

This free seminar will take place on Monday, October 24, from 11:20 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. in BSB 418.

Mr. Sanchirico will speak about how a strong foundation in mathematics has helped him in his career goals. He is currently a data scientist/software engineering consultant for Actalent Services. Mr. Sanchirico has years of experience in the defense industry working for companies like Lockheed Martin and Two Six Technologies. In his current role, Mr. Sanchirico carries out analyses for the U.S. Navy’s Aegis Combat System to help evaluate system performance. A large part of this work involves writing new tooling and optimizing existing software to maximize efficiency and impact. Mr. Sanchirico is also a part-time lecturer for the Department of Mathematical Sciences, specializing in scientific computing and data visualization.
