The Rutgers–Camden Theater Program will perform “Clybourne Park,” a play inspired by Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun, from February 13-17. The play features an African-American family who purchases a home in a predominantly white neighborhood in 1959. Act II takes places fifty years later, when a white family wishes to purchase this same home, in what is now a predominantly black neighborhood. A community showdown takes place in both instances. Written by Bruce Norris, this production is directed by Dr. Kenneth Elliott, Associate Professor of Theater.
