All members of the Rutgers and surrounding community are welcome to answer a national call to service on Monday, January 15th, the Martin Luther King Day of Service.  The event is from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., with the day’s activities beginning in the Campus Center with registration and breakfast.  The volunteer opportunities include Bancroft, CamCare, Center for Environmental Transformation, Cooper=Grant Neighborhood Association, Cooper’s Ferry Partnership, The Neighborhood Center, New Jersey Tree Foundation, UrbanPromise, and Volunteers of America–Delaware Valley.  Participants will be bused to the relevant project sites.  Placements cannot be guaranteed; for large groups working together, contact Chris Countryman.

Participants are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the on-campus food pantry.

Pre-registration is mandatory; students, staff, and faculty may register with their NetID.  Guests must register, as well.

Questions or concerns may be directed to Michael D’Italia, Engaged Civic Learning Program Coordinator.
