SkypeOnArt will return Monday, October 16th, with a presentation called “Biology and Sound,” by artist and researcher Leslie Garcia, who works in the field of sound prosthesis.  Garcia designs instruments that obtain information on the functioning and cycles of various physiological functions of an organic body. She calls the mechanism that she creates “audible prosthesis” and creates exhibitions where transducers translate plants’ biological reactions into audible noise. In these works, symphonic-like sounds are created by simply letting dishes of moss “talk” to each other.

The event begins at 11:20 a.m. in the Fine Arts Building, Room 215.  All are welcome to this free lecture!
