Paul Lisicky, Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing, was named a 2016 Guggenheim Fellow. An alumnus of Rutgers University, Lisicky is the author of five books, including the recent nonfiction work The Narrow Door: A Memoir of Friendship (2016, Graywolf Press), which is a New York Times Editors’ Choice.
The Guggenheim Foundation fellowship will enable Lisicky to work on a nonfiction piece titled Stay: A Memoir of Provincetown, which chronicles the years 1991-1994, during which Lisicky was a Writing Fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. In particular, the work will address the affect the AIDS epidemic had on this small town on Cape Cod.
