The Office of Scholar Development and Fellowship Advising assists current students and alumni with completing applications to national fellowship programs, including the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Despite the program’s name, applicants do not need to be current students to apply. This award opportunity is open to all U.S. citizens who have or will have a bachelor’s degree by the program start date. Fulbright has no minimum GPA requirement, no age restrictions, and welcomes applicants from all fields of study. Individuals with curiosity and a commitment to mutual cultural exchange are especially encouraged to consider the opportunity.
To mark the launch of the 2027-2028 application cycle, the Office of Scholar Development and Fellowship Advising is hosting a full week of programming, including social media stories and events, beginning March 23. One featured event, “Fulbright 101,” will take place on Tuesday, March 24 at 4 p.m. in the Camden Campus Center (326 Penn Street), Executive Meeting Room (lower level). A light meal will be available for those who register.
Students and alumni interested in learning more about the Fulbright program are encouraged to attend. The staff in the Office of Scholar Development and Fellowship Advising works with applicants at every stage of the process, from navigating the application to developing and preparing competitive materials. Interested alumni are encouraged to visit the Fulbright website and complete the Fulbright Interest Form to learn more. The national deadline to submit a Fulbright application is Tuesday, October 6, while the campus deadline to receive full support from the campus committee is August 30. Prospective applicants are encouraged to begin the process early.
Additional information about Fulbright Week 2026 events, as well as other awards supported by the Office of Scholar Development and Fellowship Advising, is available on the office’s website and social media (Instagram & LinkedIn).
