The Women’s and Gender Studies Program and the Division of Student Affairs will present, “A Call to Action: Symposium Against Violence,” on Friday, October 21st. The all-day event will begin at 9 a.m. in the Campus Center’s Multi-Purpose Room. Throughout the day there will be a panel discussion about violence on-campus and within communities; as well as presentations like “Identifying Race, Class, and Sexuality” and “Sexual Violence and LGBTQIA Populations.” Dr. Walter DeKeseredy, Professor of Sociology, Anna Deane Carlson Endowed Chair of Social Sciences, and Director of the Research Center on Violence at West Virginia University, will be the keynote speaker.
