Abstract

This presentation will be focused on translation and interpreting within public services, with an emphasis on the legal sector. It will explore language brokering and provide an overview of the steps involved in preparing students in translation studies and programs for professional roles in the language service industry. Participants will delve into practices and tools designed to support them, and they will also discuss the advantages and limitations of tools such as machine translation and large language models.
