The MFA Organization will host poet Emma Aylor on Thursday, Nov. 21 as part of the Visiting Writers Series. Ms. Aylor will read from her work, conduct a craft talk, and hold a short Q&A.
Emma Aylor is the author of Close Red Water (2023), selected by Tina Chang as winner of the Barrow Street Poetry Book Prize. Her poems have appeared in New England Review, AGNI, Poetry Northwest, Colorado Review, The Yale Review, Poetry Daily, and elsewhere, and she has received support from the National Park Service’s artist-in-residence program, Poetry at Round Top, and the Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow. She holds an MFA from the University of Washington–Seattle and is currently completing her doctorate at Texas Tech University.
