Dr. Anna Sampaio, Professor of Ethnic Studies and Political Science, will give the Hispanic Heritage Month Keynote Address on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Her presentation, “Latinephenomenom: Latiné/x Voters, Candidates, and Organizers Breaking the Stale Pale Male Model of U.S. Politics,” will draw on an intersectional analysis of the political engagement of the Latiné/x community. Dr. Sampaio will examine their roles as voters, candidates, and organizers, highlighting their significant impact on national politics and their crucial influence in the upcoming 2024 election.

The lecture will take place on Thursday, October 10, at 3 p.m. in the Campus Center’s Multi-Purpose Room. It will be immediately followed by a reception. Registration is required. This event is sponsored by the Division of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement (DICE)
