The MFA Organization will host their Local and Visiting Writers Series on Tuesday, September 24, with special guest editor and author Alyssa Songsiridej. Songsiridej is the author of Little Rabbit, shortlisted for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize and a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Award and the Edmund White Award. She is also a 2022 5 under 35 National Book Foundation honoree, and lives in Philadelphia.

In addition to a short reading, Songsiridej will also discuss the difference between the role of the writer and the role of the editor and explore strategies for switching between these crucial mindsets in an informal craft talk. As a former literary magazine editor, she has experience working on both sides of the literary project and is interested in how all writers can cultivate yet also distinguish between these distinct skill sets in order to revise and reach their best work.

This free event begins at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, on the first floor of the Writers House (305 Cooper Street). No registration is necessary. Enter the building from the rear door. Contact Ray Wise with questions or concerns.
