The Rutgers–Camden Center for the Arts‘ (RCCA) exhibition, Seams to be Constructed, will be available for viewing at the Stedman Gallery starting Tuesday, January 16, 2024, and closing Friday, April 12, 2024.
Margery Amdur, Professor of Art, serves as the gallery’s Artist-in-Residence. In Seams to be Constructed, she will transform the Stedman Gallery into an artist studio and laboratory over the course of a three-month exhibition. Professor Amdur creates immersive textile installations composed of digitally printed designs that are cut and sewn using traditional techniques, hung on the wall as tapestries, and shaped into reliefs and wearable art.
The following workshop will be offered as well:
- Renata Merrill on Saturday, April 6.
Workshops will take place from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., and lunch will be provided. Registration will open shortly, and space will be limited. Participants will get hands-on experience with a variety of artistic processes led by established women artists.
Finally, join us on Thursday, April 11, in the Stedman Gallery for an Artist Talk and Closing Reception of Seams to be Constructed. Registration is recommended. Hear the artist discuss her work from 5:00-6:00, and then join us for a reception from 6:00-7:00. This event is free and open to the public. Food and refreshments will be provided
