The 13th Master of Arts in Teaching Spanish Webinar Series in Applied Linguistics begins on Monday, April 5, with a presentation by Angels Ferrer Rovira of the Instituto Cervantes in Belgrade. Dr. Rovira will present, “Teaching Foreign Languages and Emotions: A Vygotskian Perspective.”
This virtual event begins at 5 p.m. via Zoom. Please contact Dr. Próspero García for additional information.
See below for an abstract of the presentation:
“This webinar will explore emotions and their role in mediating teaching from a sociocultural perspective (Vygotsky, 1998). Some situations become emotionally-charged for teachers when they happen unexpectedly or when teachers feel they do not have adequate strategies to cope with them. In this seminar, participants will receive conceptual tools to gain awareness about their feelings in critical situations, and guidelines to eplore and regulate these experiences in a productive way.”
