The Rutgers–Camden Center for the Arts (RCCA) will show its second virtual exhibition, “Waking Nightmare,” from January 8, 2021 to April 21, 2021.The year 2020 will be remembered by many as a waking nightmare. Researchers define waking nightmare as a common, generally benign, parasomnia characterized by brief episodes of inability to move or speak combined with waking consciousness. Colloquially a waking nightmare is the nightmare that continues when you wake up; or real-life has become nightmarish.
This exhibition will present selected works from the Rutgers-Camden Collection of Art. These works were created in a different time and different place, but the images, sentiments and feelings resonate with recent events.
