My Rutgers Portal and Dashboard
My Rutgers Portal has received an upgrade over the summer – the new dashboard feature gives you access to all of your important documents, bill payment, classes, email, sakai, etc. Also available through the Rutgers Camden App. Visit the My Rutgers Portal and Dashboard.
Free Period Schedules
Free period (common hour) is an hour long break without classes each day that is often used for events, meetings and programs.
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday – 11:20-12:20
- Tuesday & Thursday – 12:45-1:45

We are very excited to welcome all new and returning students! Welcome Week is a full week of fun events and programs that will introduce you to our many student leaders, staff, and services on campus. You will have the opportunity to meet new people, learn more about the campus and the resources available to you, and ways to get involved on campus. We have a bunch of events planned during the free period, which is an hour long break each day, and also have events planned during the evening. Please be sure to have your Campus Event Pass ready to check-in at each event!

- Athletic and Fitness Center
Our state-of-the-art facility offers many opportunities to play, get fit, socialize, compete, or just have fun! Take advantage of the many benefits available to you through our campus recreation program that includes our fitness center, group exercise classes, club sports, intramural sports and more. - Bookstore (University District Bookstore)

The Campus Center is the hub for campus activity and includes space for our student clubs and organizations, programming and conference space including a Multi-Purpose Room and conference rooms, and serves as the host building for several key departments and services on campus including: Career Center, Dean of Students, Fraternity & Sorority Affairs, New Student Programs and Transfer Evaluations, Student Health Services, Student Involvement, Veterans Affairs and more. - Career Center

If have a problem you can’t resolve on your own, the Dean of Students is there to help. Tom DiValerio, Dean of Students, and his team will listen to your concerns, offer guidance and find resources for moving forward. - Dining Services

Confidential advising is available to assist and provide services for students with physical, mental, and learning disabilities. - Emergency Contact Information and Notification: All students are required to provide emergency contact information. Register your cell phone number to receive emergency alerts from the Camden campus.
- Escort and Security Services for Campus Safety
Call, text or visit the Rutgers University Police Department, and a member of the RUPD will walk students to their cars; campus housing; PATCO; and the Walter Rand Transportation Center. - Financial Aid
- Health Services
Confidential services, including general primary care, women’s health, mental health, and counseling, Learning Disability testing are provided by licensed, certified, and credentialed health professionals. All full time students are eligible to use the Student Health Services regardless of insurance status. - Human Resources
- IMPACT Booth
You will need a Rutgers Student ID Card (i.e. RUConnection Card) to access the library, computer lab, athletics, and other campus facilities as well as to utilize your meal plan, RU Express account, and student discounts. Also buy concert and show Discount Tickets, See What’s Happening, etc.! - International Students
The Office of International Students and programs assists foreign-born students in their transition to campus and their maintenance of Visa status throughout their academic experience. - Libraries

Law Library - Parking & Transportation
Order Parking Permit Online: http://rudots.rutgers.edu/permits.shtml
Full Day Commuter Permit. These permits are valid in City Lot 15 and City Lot 16 all day and evening. After 4:00pm, these permits are also honored in Faculty/Staff lots.
Night Commuter Permit – These permits are not valid anywhere until 4:00pm. After 4:00pm, Faculty/Staff lots (not guaranteed) + City Lot 15 and City Lot 16 as back up.
Resident Permit – These permits are only available to students living in university housing. Valid in Lot C10, C12, or C13 (no reserved spaces).
Please Note: permits and hang tags are no longer required – register your vehicle and license plates only – option to register additional vehicles for one day or the semester at no charge – but only one vehicle may be parked on campus at a time.
- Police
A team of commissioned police officers and security guards patrol our campus of 1.5 square miles on foot, on bicycle, and in cars, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. - Policy and Compliance

Register for classes, declare your major, and obtain your transcript at the Registrar’s Office. - Residence Life
Living on campus comes with some major perks, like enjoying more shut-eye, making some lifelong friends, and taking advantage of specially-planned outing and events for residents only. - RU Express
A cash-free alternative that works like a debit card, RU Express is offered at various on and off campus locations, from Starbucks to Financial Services to Residence Hall Laundry, and can be replenished throughout the semester. To create a new account or to add funds to an existing account, contact Financial Services (Bursar’s Office) at (856) 225-6021 or manage your account online. - Rutgers Web Mail: Information about configuring your Rutgers email account.
- Sakai
An online learning management system, research collaboration system and ePortfolio solution, Sakai is utilized throughout the university to enhance learning in courses, departments, programs, and organizations. - Software Portal: Learn about free, site-licensed, and individually licensed software available to Rutgers students for download and purchase.
- Student Accounting
Pay your term bill, pick up your refund check, and add money to your RU Express plan or meal plan. - Student Involvement (OSI)
