A busy spring is planned for the Cooper Street Writing Workshops!
Beginning February 2nd, instructor Micaiah Johnson will lead “Giving Context to the Personal: Weaving Research into Your Memoir.” Ms. Johnson will discuss memoirs such as Persepolis, Men Explain Things to Me, and Angela’s Ashes that successfully integrate research in their writing. Participants will also have the opportunity to have their own writing workshopped so that they may learn how to incorporate research seamlessly. The workshop will be every Thursday evening from February 2nd – March 9th. The class will last from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and will take place in the Writers House. Registration is required, and the workshop cost is $250.00.
Beginning February 21st, instructor Cherita Harrell, an alumna of the Rutgers–Camden graduate creative writing program, will lead “Turning Life into Fiction,” which will explore how facts informs fiction.
