The Faculty of Arts and Sciences-Office of the Dean invites all Camden College of Arts and Sciences students who have earned at least 54 credits, but no more than 90, to apply to be a Peer Instructor for the new First Year Rutgers Experience (FYRE) program. Eligibility criteria includes:

  • Must have at least 54 and no more than 90 credits completed prior to teaching a fall semester FYRE class.
  • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 at time of application and during the following semester
  • Must be available to participate in all 3 training sessions (Training I: June 7, 2022, Training II: August 3, 2022, Training III: August 22, 2022)
  • Must be available to attend one-hour biweekly meetings with FYRE staff for consultation during the fall semester when teaching 

Peer Instructors are paid for teaching and participation in the training sessions. Beyond financial compensation, being a PI also demonstrates that you have skills that are valued by employers and graduate schools alike: leadership, creativity, responsibility, communication skills and organizational skills, to name a few.
