“Beacons of Light” Conference Scheduled for 3/30

Posted March 23, 2016, in News.

On Wednesday, March 30th, join us for the day-long conference “Beacons of Light: The Black Student Protest Legacy at Rutgers-Camden.”  Panels will discuss the history of student protest and desegregation is Camden and the surrounding areas.  Dr. John Carlos, Olympic gold medalist and a leader in the Black Power movement who raised his fist in salute on the 1968 Olympic medal podium, will be the closing plenary speaker.

This conference begins at 8 a.m. in the Campus Center’s Multi-Purpose Room.  While free and open to all, registration is required.
