The Rutgers University-Camden theater program, in conjunction with the Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts, presents the new musical, “Hand Me Down the Silver Trumpet,” which celebrates the legacy of great African American recording artists of the 1920s and 30s and features performances of classic blues, jazz, and spirituals performed by students, alumni, and guest artists.  The show, directed by Dr. Kenneth Elliott, Associate Professor of Theater and Chair of the Department of Fine Arts, will premiere on Thursday, October 16th, at 10 a.m. Other performances dates are:

  • Friday, October 17th, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 18th, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, October 19th, at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $15.00 for general admission, $10.00 for senior citizens, faculty/staff, and alumni, and $7.00 for non-Rutgers University–Camden students, with a valid ID.  Tickets may be purchased by calling (856) 225-6211 or by visiting the Box Office two hours prior to the start of the show.

With a valid RUID card, Rutgers University–Camden students may obtain two tickets free of charge at the Campus Center’s Impact Booth.
