Join us on Friday, September 9th, for the first Center for Urban Research and Education (CURE) seminar of the 2016-2017 academic year!  Dr. Seth Gershenson, Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the School of Public Affairs at American University, and a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Bonn, Germany, will be the guest speaker.  Dr. Gershenson will present, “Biases in Teachers’ Expectations,” which will examine the following: 1) how teachers form expectations for their students; 2) whether teachers’ expectations are racially biased; 3) how biased expectations affect educational attainment; and 4) possible policy solutions.

This event will begin at 12:15 p.m. in the Campus Center’s Private Dining Room.  All are welcome to this free event.  Lunch will be served.
